She strutted out of the sea with water dripping down her body, she oozed sensuality shamelessly, she emanated confidence and radiance in global locations. Where she was primarily put on a pedestal, the video vixen became simultaneously villainized the more the industry equated her with sex work and the more saturated the market became with young models eager for their moment to shine .The Video Vixen impacted my personal path as I stepped into the modeling industry at 14 and has continued to inspire my art.

Today I re-write a personal narrative for what it means to express myself through the medium of video, as a vixen, on my own terms. And I invite you into this space of reclamation and inquiry for yourself.

What is the relationship between performance and power? In my experience it has been intricately intertwined. It’s no surprise though since performance has been a part of my journey since I began performing ballet before I even hit 3 years old. I can’t say that performance is inherently empowering in and of itself. And not every empowered person has the desire to perform of course.

But when we are talking about Pussy Power, i believe the experience of and relationship with performance can be an exercise and tool for empowerment, especially when met with intention.

So how is Performance in conversation with Pussy Power? I’m going to draw on a few of the pillars of my Pussy Empowered framework, personal experience, and the experiences of peers & clients to bring this topic to life.
